DAY TRIP TO KAITERITERI
The golden sands of Kaiteriteri could quite possibly rival the recognised wonders of the world. The result of the weathering of ancient granite rocks, crystals of quartz and mica are released out to sea, where the finely ground glittering golden sand particles are washed up to shore to form the idyllic Kaiteriteri Beach.
ABEL TASMAN NATIONAL PARK
The Abel Tasman Coastal Track follows a pristine coastline of extraordinary beauty. Clear, turquoise bays, abundant bird and sea life, and fresh, clean air surround you as you walk under the shady canopy of lush native forest. Birdsong rings through the treetops above, only interrupted by the call of the occasional small waterfall nestled in the midst of the park.
CABLE BAY SETTLEMENT
Rotokura / Cable Bay a small settlement 18 kilometres north-east of Nelson. The settlement at the head of the bay is at the southern end of a thin strip of land or causeway connecting Pepin Island with the South Island. An easy day-trip by car this backdrop offers a stunning coastal setting.
